Kensington
passed through a series of owners in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. During many of these
years, she was just an "old boat" and, as a consequence, many revisions had been
made in her interior that were not in keeping with the design of the period in which she was
built. Nonetheless, until the late 1970s she was always kept in basically sound shape.
However, a sale to a young couple in 1977 was not in the best interests of the yacht and
she was found by her current owner in a severe state of decay in Poulsbo, Washington in
1982. After an extensive restoration, Kensington is shown photographed on Lake
Washington, October 4, 1986. |
