Kensington has appeared in several books on classic yachts, in magazine articles, marine store catalog covers, newspaper articles, and on television.  She has won numerous awards, including Best Restored Power at the Victoria, BC Classic Boat Festival in 1989, Peoples Choice at the 1997 Bell Street Pier Classic Rendezvous in Seattle, and has won the Seattle Yacht Club's Golden Potlatch Trophy for Best Classic Power in the Opening Day parade in 1995, '96, '97, '98 and 2000.  She served as the flagship of the Pacific Northwest Fleet of the Classic Yacht Association in 1993 and '94 and as National flagship in 1996. Kensington is pictured above on Lake Washington on February 5, 1995 in a photo taken by James Paynton.

As we sail into a new century, Kensington, which probably could not have lasted than more than one more season if she had not been rescued in 1982, cruises on proudly as an example of the golden era of motor boating.
